Feist hace balance del tiempo y los acontecimientos que motivaron el contenido de su nuevo disco: "Los últimos años fueron un período de confrontación para mí, y parece que lo fue al menos hasta cierto punto para todos. Nos confrontamos a nosotros mismos tanto como nuestras relaciones nos confrontaron. Parecía que nuestros ecosistemas relacionales estaban más claros que nunca y, por lo tanto, todo lo que normalmente estaba oculto, como cierta forma de evitar conflictos o cierta forma de hablar sobre el tema, de repente salió a la luz. 

"Y en toda esa reevaluación, se hizo posible la oportunidad de encontrar un lugar más saludable y honesto, y el esfuerzo por mantener la evasión realmente se sintió como si requiriera más esfuerzo que simplemente entregarnos a la verdad", añade la cantautora canadiense.
