Grabaciones definitivas de Rory Gallagher en la BBC

La compañía Universal Music prepara para el 11 de octubre el lanzamiento de la caja exclusiva titulada Rory Gallagher The BBC Collection, que reúne 20 discos (18 en formato CD y 2 en Blu-ray). La citada entrega se considera como la compilación definitiva de las grabaciones realizadas por el guitarrista, cantante y compositor norirlandés durante el periodo comprendido entre 1971 y 1986.

La nueva caja se creó a partir de cintas de los archivos de la BBC junto con los discos de transcripción del propio Rory Gallagher y grabaciones en casete fuera del aire. Más de las tres cuartas partes de las grabaciones de audio son inéditas.

Los audios también registran el concierto Sight & Sound transmitido por radio y televisión en el año 1977, la actuación de Gallagher como primera figura del cartel del Festival de Reading correspondiente 1980 y el concierto At Midnight' en directo desde el Ulster Hall de Belfast en 1984. 

En relación con los Blu-ray, hay que destacar que presentan conciertos de televisión y actuaciones en estudio de la BBC desde 1973 a 1984.

La colección se  completa The Best Of Rory Gallagher At The BBC (en formato compacto, 2CD) y Rory Gallagher The Best Of At The BBC (en vinilo, 3LP).
