De acuerdo con el libro autobiográfico de notorio éxito internacional: "Born to Run", "Springsteen on Broadway" recoge las grabaciones de una reunión en torno al escenario con el cantante, compositor y músico, Bruce Springsteen, quien con su guitarra, un piano y sus deliciosos comentarios de carácter personal. En los discos de  "Springsteen On Broadway" (ediciones en formatos CD: 2 y vinilo: 4 LP), cada comentario aparece con pista propia bajo el nombre "Introduction" a la pieza que precede. 

El audio de "Springsteen On Broadway" fue mezclado por el legendario Bob Clearmountain y masterizado por el aclamado Bob Ludwig.
