Flynn insiste en que I Would Not LIve Always: “Definitivamente es un álbum de encierro. Cuando volvimos al estudio, el productor Brendan Jenkinson y yo, agregamos montones y montones de texturas diferentes. Creo que eso le dio un toque un poco más contemporáneo”.

Mantiene que: “Paso por fases de búsqueda de canciones tradicionales. Hay un gran archivo en Dublín con grabaciones raras y antiguas. Y en las sesiones escuchas cantar a los jefes mayores, así que aprendí canciones de ellos. 'Shallow Brown' proviene de un gran libro de chabolas marinas recopilado por Stan Hugill. Me imagino que la forma en que la canto no es la forma en que se cantaba originalmente, ya que las chabolas eran canciones de trabajo. Es una canción tan triste que tenía que cantarla”.

La promoción del primer disco del cuarteto estadounidense Camp Trash afirma que el sonido de  The Long Way, The Slow Way  "rinde homenaje al sinuoso camino detrás de ellos, impregnado de cálidas guitarras, órganos y estribillos como el indie rock de los 90 y el power pop de su juventud. Lo mismo ocurre con la portada del álbum: tomada por el baterista Alex Roberts, muestra una lavandería al aire libre, vista desde el estacionamiento de la bolera que Keegan, junto con su hermano Levi, quien toca el bajo en la banda, visitaba. cada vez que uno de sus hermanos se graduaba de la escuela secundaria. Pero como en el video de su sencillo Lake Erie Boys, que sigue a la banda chocando jarras de cerveza y haciendo el tonto entre las paradas de la gira con Spanish Love Songs, Camp Trash también se trata de crear nuevos recuerdos y comenzar bromas internas que puedan compartir con una comunidad de amigos y oyentes".

El cantante y compositor del grupo Bryan insiste en que: "Gran parte de mi trabajo se realizó en la preproducción y escritura; en su mayor parte, estaba bastante seguro de lo que quería vocalmente, líricamente. No me considero un músico en el sentido instrumental. La guitarra es realmente solo un mecanismo para escribir cosas para mi voz, así que cedo mucho de eso a Keegan, Levi, sus instintos.
